Building a new general learning area and gym with advanced facilities, opportunistic programs, and holistic well-being learning strategies inspires our students to discover their journey in life beyond the classroom and allows them to embrace a community connected by courage, a love of learning, and service to others. Architectural and feature lighting are integral aspects of the design. The construction included the installation of new consumer mains, sub-mains, and switchboards, with coordination with other trades.
General Description of Work:
Disconnection, ensuring safety, and demolition of existing submains and communications cabling in the buildings slated for demolition.
Installation of new underground electrical and communications cabling, along with conduits tailored to the new building and site infrastructure.
Laying low voltage submains cabling from the existing Main Distribution Board to the new General Learning Areas' (GLA) distribution board, covering a distance of over 350 meters through underground conduits and pit network.
Installing low voltage submains cabling from the new GLA's distribution board to the Sports Hall distribution board through underground conduits and pit network.
Implementing Distribution Boards that include energy sub-metering, surge diversion, and local power, as well as Dali lighting control designed by QES.
Introducing an Energy Management System (EMS) for comprehensive metering of energy, water, and gas. This includes all necessary components such as electricity meters, cabling, software, and commissioning.
Establishing a Multiple Earthed Neutral (MEN) earthing system and ensuring proper earthing of all systems throughout the complex.
Installing submains and distribution switchgear and control gear assemblies (SCA) to serve all buildings.
Incorporating seepage holes in all pits and, where specified, providing Class D trafficable pits.
Supplying general power for Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Fire Protection Services equipment as required.
Providing general and specialist power provisions throughout the facility.
Ensuring general illumination by Australian Standard 1680 - Interior Lighting, typically consisting of LED luminaires. Intelligent lighting control, designed by QES, enables ambient lighting during special school functions when using the gym.
Implementing a 100 KW Solar system monitor and integrating it with the existing embedded network solar system.
